CHAIN OF FLOWERS live @ Brudenell, Leeds 24-04-17

Chain of Flowers return with a new double A-side and tour you need to experience.

From the off, Chain of Flowers have been sure-footed, and tonight's Leeds show was a thudding reminder of their unflinching purpose.

There's a few new tunes on display from the new double A-side and as you can hear from the link below, it's a step towards an even bigger second album.

Songs from 2015's debut come in tight and thick. Nail Me To Your Cross deals out emotional turmoil through a thumping slice of gothic disco. Hearing the line 'wrap me around you, decay as one/ shackle down our hope and wilt in the sun' and wanting to dance at the same time is the exact sort of welcome dissonance you'll find at a CoF gig.

Crisis comes out fretting and wound up, and provides a really cutting dance tune for the Brudenell to shed off the woes of Monday.

Singer Joshua Smith is equal parts coil and whip; watching him twist and sway around can be mesmerising and there's still a certain amount of venom left over from Crossbreaker, his previous vitriolic hardcore band he shared with CoF guitarist Ross.

This is heavy and kinetic show and the best I've seen them yet. If you've seen them before make sure not to miss out on the release of the new stuff and catch it early on the tour dates below.

Here's where you can see them:

April 25 The Castle Hotel, Manchester
26 Hare & Hounds Kings Heath, Birmingham
28 The Louisiana, Bristol
29 The Joiners, Southampton
30 The Hope & Ruin, Brighton
May 01 The Lock Tavern, London
